ISA Programme presented the #Core #Vocabularies, ADMS and #DCAT-AP at the “Manage IT 2015 International program”

sddefault On 18 and 19 November 2015, v-ict-or.be organised the Manage IT 2015 International program focusing on the application of information management and information security within local government. The topic of the conference was:  “Digital agenda for local government”, and the participants were provided with the most recent and interesting topics on the digital agenda for local governments.

During the conference, the ISA Programme presented in two sessions the following:

Implementations of ISA Core Vocabularies, ADMS, and DCAT-AP

The Core Vocabularies are simplified, re-usable and extensible data models that capture the fundamental characteristics of a data entity in a context-neutral and syntax-neutral fashion. The Core Vocabularies are implemented by:

ADMS is a vocabulary to describe interoperability assets making it possible for ICT developers to explore and search for interoperability assets. ADMS is implemented by:

The DCAT-AP is a specification based on the Data Catalogue vocabulary (DCAT) for describing public sector datasets in Europe. The DCAT-AP is implemented by:

The creation of an international core data model

The ISA program has established the Community of Practice (CoP) on data standards. The main objectives of the CoP are: to harmonise existing initiatives and to share knowledge, experiences and lessons learnt on core data models and reference data. To achieve its second goal, the CoP is focusing on developing common guidelines for core data models and reference data. The common guidelines will derive from a collection of case studies from the Member States. A case study is considered within the scope of the current project if it meets one or more of the following criteria:

  • It relates directly to the management and governance of data standards.
  • It is about data standards targeting the implementation of IT systems having regional, national or cross-border coverage, or concerns the exchange of information between systems within or across borders.
  • It relates to data standards covering one or more policy areas.
